Whenever the
user makes a change to any of the operating parameters, the package
immediately recalculates and displays the new simulated electropherogram.
The values
of each variable can easily be changed using the comprehensive
mouse controlled pull down menus. In addition to the simulated
peaks the simulation reports migration time, resolution, electrical
current, peak area and electrophoretic mobility.
The package
also includes a number of exercises that can be used in the following
fashion with predetermined test mixtures.
The test
mixtures used in the exercises include mixtures of acidic, basic
and neutral compounds. A test mixture consisting of a compound
together with trace level related impurities is also included.
The user can enter details of their own compounds of interest
in order to carry out user specific optimisations.
